grafik
Leonore Peer/Portfolio

The Transferable Skills module is part of the Introductory and Orientation Phase (STEOP) and carries a total of 2 ECTS credits.

Structure
There are two options to complete the module:
• Option A: Exciting Science + two elective courses
• Option B: Exciting Science + World Climate Game

Option A: Exciting Science + Two Electives
Choose two of the following five electives:

• Rhetoric (641.001) – offered in English or German
• Presenting & Visualizing (641.002) - offered in English or German
• Self-Management (641.003) - offered in English or German
• Ethics (641.004) - offered in English or German
• Excel (641.005) – bilingual (English/German)

Option B: Exciting Science + World Climate Game

Instead of the two electives, you may choose the World Climate Game (641.006). In this interactive, app-based simulation developed by Weitblick GmbH, you take on roles representing global perspectives in climate negotiations and explore the complex interconnections between social, economic, and environmental sustainability.
Through this experience, you strengthen your communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Exciting Science
As part of Exciting Science, you spend half a day in an academic department and gain insight into the department’s research activities.

You then prepare a short portfolio, including:
• a reflection on your visit to the department
• my degree program
• a fictional CV describing the qualifications and competencies you expect to have acquired by the end of your studies

Further information can be found in your Moodle course.

The Transferable Skills module is offered during all four STEOP periods throughout the academic year:
• Introduction and Orientation Phase (STEOP) 1: October – November
• Introduction and Orientation Phase (STEOP) 2: January
• Introduction and Orientation Phase (STEOP) 3: March - April
• Introduction and Orientation Phase (STEOP) 4: June

Important Information:
• To successfully complete the Transferable Skills module, you must complete all components within a single Introduction and Orientation Phase (STEOP) period.
• Please make sure to register in time for course 641.000 (Transferable Skills) and your selected electives or the World Climate Game via MUonline!
